FALL FREE-FOR-ALL!
Open House at Cal Performances
Sun, Sept 30
A Full Day of Free Performances
Zellerbach Hall, Pauley Ballroom, Hertz Hall, Wheeler Auditorium, Lower Sproul Plaza, Bancroft Studio, and outdoor stages across the UC Berkeley Campus
Gamelan Sekar Jaya performs in Pauley Ballroom beginning at 4pm
Free and Open to the Public — No Tickets Needed
Gamelan Sekar Jaya will perform traditional Balinese works on two ensembles—the thunderous giant bamboo jegog ensemble native to West Bali, and the ethereally sweet gamelan angklung ensemble, accompanied by the dramatic flare of Balinese dance. The audience is welcomed to enjoy the complex interlocking melodies of these ensembles, and the myriad expressions and delicate hand and eye motions of Balinese dance, in this free festive setting.
