Come meet our Guest Artists, Ensembles and Community! Enjoy Free Balinese Dance and Music Performances and Workshops. This is a family friendly, all ages event.

Banjar is the Balinese word to describe a ‘neighborhood’, defined as a local community group that acts as a village council and aims to take care of the cultural and religious values of the village community. The Banjar is Gamelan Sekar Jaya’s home in Berkeley, California. It is the home for Balinese Guest Artists, rehearsal space for all our music and dance ensembles, and a community center.

Whether you are a past ensemble member, have taken a class with us, you’re a neighbor, or have never heard of us at all, we want to build community with you!
